Core Strategy - Further Consultation
The event is not currently available for consultation.
This Further Consultation document is the latest stage in preparing a Core Strategy for the East Riding. Once complete, the Core Strategy will provide the key planning policy direction and is the central document within the Council's Local Development Framework (LDF).
This consultation responds to the comments we received to the Preferred Approach Core Strategy and to new and emerging evidence - for example, new household projections and the East Riding's Strategic Housing Market Assessment. In particular, it focuses on:
- Refreshed and additional place statements (Chapter 2);
- Proposed amendments to the Settlement Network and development in rural areas (Chapter 3);
- The scale of housing and employment growth (Chapter 4);
- Two specific housing issues covering affordable housing and open space provision (Chapter 5).
We have also prepared a Core Strategy - Further Consultation Summary document and a number of supporting documents including a Sustainability Appraisal Supplement and a poster advertising the consultation (see 'Supporting Documents' tab below).
The consultation period runs from Monday 31 October to Monday 19 December 2011.
We are holding a number of drop in sessions where an officer will be on hand to talk about the consultation and answer any questions. Please feel free to visit one of the sessions listed below between 2:30pm and 6:30pm.

What happens next?
Responses and feedback to this consultation document will be used to help shape a Publication version of the Core Strategy. The Publication document will also include revised versions of those other policies that were set out in the Preferred Approach Core Strategy. The Publication document is expected to be published in the Summer of 2012.
