Welcome to East Riding's Consultation Portal for the Local Development Framework
The Local Development Framework, or LDF, is the name for the set of documents that together will provide the framework for addressing the key planning issues within our area. It is the long-term local plan for the East Riding.
When the individual documents – known as Development Plan Documents (DPDs) –
are adopted, they will help guide investment and be used to determine planning applications. In
time, the LDF will replace the four Local Plans, the Joint Minerals Plan, the Joint Waste Plan
and the Joint Structure Plan for
For the East Riding, the LDF will comprise the following documents:
| Document | What does the document do? |
|---|---|
| Core Strategy DPD | This will provide the overall planning strategy, identifying where development will broadly take place and how much. |
| Allocations DPD | This will identify specific sites and land for things such as housing or economic development, open spaces and protected areas. |
| Bridlington Town Centre Area Action Plan | This is a detailed plan for managing development in Bridlington Town Centre. |
| Joint Waste DPD | This will replace the Joint Waste Local Plan which was adopted in November 2004 and provides waste planning policies for Hull and the East Riding. (This link takes you to Hull City Council's consultation portal as they are the lead partner in preparing the document.) |
| Joint Minerals DPD | This will replace the Joint Minerals Local Plan which was adopted in January 2004 and provides minerals planning policies for Hull and the East Riding. |
| Previous LDF Structure | This section sets out consultation documents prepared under a previous LDF structure. These are no longer being progressed in their own right. |

What is this Consultation Portal for?
This Consultation Portal is where we will publish the draft documents which will eventually make up the LDF. Most of the documents prepared as part of the LDF are subject to consultation, and we want you to be involved and have your say.
To be kept informed of the latest consultations, make comments on draft documents, see what other people have said, and to see which documents have already been prepared, please register on this site (top right).
How do I use this Consultation Portal?
All of our consultation documents are listed on this welcome page. You can use the links above to take you to the relevant consultation document or alternatively, you can simply click on the document you are interested in from the table below.
If the consultation period is still ongoing ('open'), you can make comments which will be sent directly to us (registration required). If the consultation is 'closed', you can still view the document and see what other people have said.
